From safety to eligibility — here’s some information you need to know before you give.

Is donating blood safe?
Yes! Every donation uses sterile, single-use equipment. There’s no risk of infection.
Who can donate blood?
Anyone between the ages of 18 and 65, weighing at least 50kg, and in good health can donate. You’ll go through a quick health screening to ensure you’re eligible and safe to donate.
How long does it take?
Many patients need regular blood transfusions to manage anemia, prevent strokes, and reduce complications caused by sickled cells.
Will I feel weak afterward?
Most donors feel fine. We provide light refreshments, and you’re encouraged to rest briefly before leaving.
How often can I donate?
Men can donate every 3 months, and women every 4 months. This allows your body enough time to replenish its blood supply.
Can I donate if I’m on medication or recently had an illness?
It will depends on the medication or illness. Our medical team will advise during screening.
What should I do before and after donating?
Eat a healthy meal, stay hydrated, and get enough rest before donating. Afterward, rest briefly, drink plenty of fluids, and avoid strenuous activity for the rest of the day.
What happens to my blood after donation?
Every unit of blood is screened, processed, and stored according to strict safety standards before being distributed to hospitals and patients who need it most.
Who Can Donate?

You can donate blood if you meet the following criteria:

Are between 18 and 65 years old (with valid ID)
Weigh at least 50 kg (110 lbs).
Are in good health and not currently ill.
Haven’t donated blood in the last 3 months (for men) or 4 months (for women).
