At the heart of every thriving community lies a spirit of collaboration and support, especially when it comes to matters as crucial as healthcare. In pursuit of this spirit, Blood Cells Rescue Initiative recently embarked on a momentous journey to engage with key stakeholders, forging a partnership that holds the promise of saving lives. As part of this endeavour, a courtesy visit was paid to the esteemed Rector of Bigard Memorial Seminary in Enugu state, Rev. Fr. Dr Albert Okey Ikpenwa. The courtesy visit was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Felix Ugwuozor, the Executive Director of One Hope Children Inc., who graciously took the time to introduce the Blood Cells Rescue Initiative to the Rector before giving our Executive Director, Dr Onyinye Eze the platform to speak about the Blood Cells Rescue Initiative and our mission to ensure the timely availability of safe blood to those who need it across Nigeria, especially in Enugu State.

The crux of the discussions centred around the dire blood emergency situation in Nigeria and the impactful interventions championed by the Blood Cells Rescue Initiative. The meeting provided an invaluable opportunity to shed light on the urgent need for a readily available pool of safe blood donors to cater to those in need. A noteworthy facet of this interaction was the recognition of the exceptional potential within the student population at the seminary.

The resonance between the values upheld by the students and the act of giving blood, which embodies selflessness and compassion, was unmistakable. With this in mind, the representatives of Blood Cells Rescue Initiative humbly requested the privilege of connecting with the institution during times of critical need, seeking voluntary donors to meet emergencies head-on.
